Intro to Lacrosse

Many players join Georgetown Lacrosse with no prior experience. Our coaches focus on teaching the fundamentals in a supportive and fun environment so every player can learn the game with confidence.

Beginner players will learn key skills including:

  • Passing
  • Catching
  • Cradling
  • Defensive positioning
  • Team communication

Lacrosse combines the speed of basketball, the physicality of football, the strategy of soccer, and the hand-eye coordination used in baseball and hockey, making it one of the best all-around sports for athletic development.

For new players, it is a strong entry point into competitive athletics because it builds confidence, coordination, speed, and game awareness from the ground up.
